The Overture was born in 1993, following the rigorous tradition of the “seconds vins” of Bordeaux’s great châteaux. Its name evokes the prelude or opening of a musical piece, an introduction that anticipates the themes and genius of the main work. By not being bound to a single vintage, the vineyard manager and winemaker Michael Silacci have the freedom to create a red wine of masterful consistency, with a velvety texture that is more approachable in its youth than Opus One, yet with an outstanding ageing potential.
