Located in Saint-Émilion, a sub-region of Bordeaux in western France, Château Cheval Blanc, as a Premier Grand Cru Classé, is without a doubt an exceptional estate. Its history begins in 1832 with Ducasso, a judge at the court of the city of Libourne, who purchased a property near the town, acquiring 15 hectares of vineyard from Château Figeac. Among the most acclaimed wines of Saint-Émilion in the world, the legendary Château Cheval Blanc has grown enormously in importance over the years. In Saint-Émilion, bordering Pomerol, the estate covers 39 hectares divided into 45 plots, each treated as a separate vineyard due to differences in vine age, grape varieties, soil types, and other factors. The combination of these factors contributes to the complexity of the Cheval Blanc terroir. The 2011 Le Petit Cheval reveals saline nuances, with redcurrant and black cherry, a spice box, and mineral notes. Round, generous, and medium-bodied, this wine is ideal for drinking over the next decade or more. (image for illustrative purposes only)
