The top of the Cava D.O. is reserved for those sparkling wines that, in addition to having a long ageing period equivalent to a Gran Reserva, carry the Encrave Calificado certification—meaning they come from an exceptional vineyard, with absolutely unique and singular conditions and characteristics. This is the case with Encrave de Vallcirera, in the Serralada de Marina Natural Park, the birthplace of this superb wine that, according to the Pujol‑Busquets family, “represents an evolution of the traditional concept of great bottleage.”
