This Pacheca No. 1 Reserva certainly appears to have been bottled with a hefty dose of ambition. Harvested from 25kg boxes – a remarkably attentive process – and aged in a 14-ton granite winery, it’s clear the winemakers weren't holding back on coaxing out the complexities of the Touriga Nacional and Touriga Francesa. A year in new French oak barrels delivered a wonderfully creamy texture, and it’s a wine with enough finesse to pair beautifully with a classic orange duck.
