This Padrão dos Povos, straight from the heart of Trás-os-Montes, certainly seems to have benefitted from a little time spent maturing – a precise 12 months in tank, followed by a further 30 months resting in inox. The blend of Trincadeira, Touriga Nacional and Aragonez, native to the region, hints at a surprising complexity. It’s a wine that clearly demands patience, and would pair beautifully with a hearty, traditional lamb roast, a staple of the area.
