This Palácio da Bacalhoa 2013 is a serious statement – a deep dive into ripe red berries, with a lingering hint of coffee and vanilla that, let’s be honest, probably stemmed from those late-night tastings. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes really pulled together to create a powerfully concentrated wine, befitting the estate's excellent reputation. That extended ageing in Allier oak barrels, coupled with extra time in the cellar, delivered a beautifully balanced result. Seriously, it would pair wonderfully with a grilled fish or roasted beef – a truly memorable experience.
