In the municipalities of Torrelavit, Sant Llorenç d'Hortons, Piera and La Llacuna, north of Penedès, five or six almost‑arid yet teeming‑with‑life vines—planted by the grandparents of the winery’s owners with the help of animals and still cultivated manually—give birth to the Collita Roja (Colheita Vermelha). Its producers declare: “When Josep Pla says that a peasant is a peasant and nothing more, we, paraphrasing him, say that Sumoll is Sumoll and nothing more: unique and inimitable.”
