This Pedra Cancela Signatura from the Dão is a seriously captivating wine – it’s clear it’s had a very intimate chat with those old vines and the Touriga Nacional. The result is a deeply rich ruby colour, almost dramatically so, with a beautiful purple shimmer hinting at incredible ripeness. The nose bursts with vibrant rosemary and the characteristic floral notes of the Touriga, alongside an astonishingly concentrated fruit that practically sings on the palate. The mouthfeel is incredibly smooth, a perfect balance of tannin and acidity, finishing with a lingering complexity – as confirmed by the Grande Escolha’s impressive 17.5 points. Absolutely sublime with grilled red meats for a truly memorable pairing.
