This Pequenos Rebentos Selvagem is a genuine journey through time, born from a vineyard that’s witnessed quite a bit of history (and continues to impressively reach nearly seven metres high!). Crafted with Azal grapes in a ‘Vinha de Enforcado’ – a traditional system that undoubtedly imparts a particularly robust character – the wine undergoes a remarkably medieval winemaking process: manual removal of the grape skins, foot treading, fermentation with native yeasts in amphora, and a lengthy ageing on both used barrels and amphora. The result is a vibrant wine with an acidity that demands attention, alongside a persistent, mineral-driven finish. Seriously, it pairs beautifully with fatty fish, or for anyone who wants a wine that unequivocally knows its roots.
