Description

This Pêra-Manca, a true Alentejo icon, continues to demonstrate that some wines are simply unforgettable. Crafted by Fundação Eugénio de Almeida, this 1990 vintage embodies the very essence of exceptional wine. The blend of Trincadeira and Aragonez, sourced from vines over 30 years old, delivers a remarkable complexity and elegance – a factor recognised by a stellar 18.5 score from Revista de Vinhos, and a "Grandes Escolhas" award in 2017. The careful winemaking, guided by Pedro Baptista and Duarte Lopes, with temperature-controlled fermentation in French oak balseiros, ensures a deep extraction, beautifully preserving the distinctive character of the grapes and the terroir of the Alentejo. A superb pairing would be with slow-roasted pork or aged cheeses – a truly refined experience.
