Born on a remarkably privileged north-facing schistous hillside between 200 and 400 metres above sea level, this Quinta da Poeira wine – crafted from Touriga Nacional and Souzão – is a bold statement of intent. Jorge Moreira’s meticulous approach, including hand-harvesting and fermentation in the traditional lagar, coupled with malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, results in a wine of remarkable freshness and elegance. The 14-month aging in French oak barrels adds a subtle complexity, promising even further development in the bottle. It’s a truly expressive reflection of the Douro terroir, and pairs beautifully with grilled meats or game dishes.
