It all began in 1918, when Manoel Domingues Poças Jr., born amid the frenzy of Port wine, decided to start his own business. At about 30 years old, Manoel already had some industry experience and, together with his uncle, founded a brandy‑supply company for major Port wine producers. Years later, he established the company’s headquarters in Vila Nova de Gaia, where it remains to this day. The entire Poças family has shared their passion for wine, blending respect for tradition with an open‑minded embrace of the innovations brought by newer generations. Today, with three estates in the finest locations of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças exercises full control over the quality of its wines. *(illustrative image only)*
