It all started in 1918, when Manoel Domingues Poças Jr., born in the heart of the Port wine frenzy, decided to start his own business. At about 30 years old, Manoel Poças already had some experience in the industry, and together with his uncle he founded a company that supplied brandies to major Port wine producers. Years later, he established the company’s headquarters in Vila Nova de Gaia, where it has remained to this day. The entire Poças family has shared a passion for wine, blending respect for tradition with an open mind toward the innovations brought by newer generations. Today, with three estates located in the best areas of the Douro Demarcated Region, Poças has full control over the quality of its wines.
