This Poças Reserva is a robust white, clearly benefiting from its hand-harvested arrival and transport on 30kg trays – a nod to tradition, of course! The subtle vanilla notes come from aging in Allier oak, and Wine Spectator critics awarded it 89 points, noting a pleasant vegetal bitterness alongside a remarkable balance. The Douro’s native grapes – Viosinho, Gouveio and Códega – demonstrate a genuine character, and it’s a fantastic match for grilled fresh fish.
