This Poças Vintage demands a certain reverence, doesn’t it? The colour – bordering on arterial – certainly sets the tone. It’s a powerhouse of ripe fruit, beautifully balanced by the elegance of Touriga Nacional and the rugged charm of Aragonez, all stemming from very old vines. Robert Parker nailed it with the description of the smooth tannins and the lingering finish, which begs for a hearty black pork roast to truly tame its intensity.
