This wine, now approaching twenty years old, is a fascinating time traveler, boasting a deep amber hue with flashes of ruby hinting at remarkable longevity. The aromatic complexity is certainly its showstopper – the oak, clearly seasoned in-house, dances beautifully alongside notes of rich, mature hazelnuts, as if the wine has spent a considerable amount of time absorbing wisdom from a particularly seasoned nut guru. A wine that gracefully balances elegance with robustness, it’s wonderfully suited to pairing with a quality aged cheese and, perhaps, a slice of excellent cured ham.
