Popa A Bastardo is a noble grape, despite its name invoking something undesirable or controversial. It is predominantly found in field blends of old vines in the Douro, so it is rarely vinified on its own. Undoubtedly demanding in the vineyard, it produces surprisingly impressive wines. **LIMITED EDITION.** **Vinification:** Manual harvest in 20‑kg crates, with the whole bunch received directly into the press, without destemming. The bunches were crushed using the traditional foot‑pounding method. Alcoholic fermentation occurred partially in the press; after a gentle pressing, it finished in stainless‑steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation took place in stainless‑steel tanks, with the wine then staged there.
