Susana Esteban searched all of Alentejo for the perfect vineyard. It was only in 2011 that she finally found the two plots she had been looking for, though they differed radically. One plot hides an Alicante Bouschet vine with very low yields, planted on clayey soils near Évora; the other hides a traditional mixed vine in a much cooler part of Alentejo. This low‑yield, mixed vine adds unusual complexity and freshness to the wine. The combination of the two plots gives rise to this unique, character‑filled wine. Hand‑harvested in 20‑kg crates, with rigorous selection in the cellar. Vinification takes place in small, temperature‑controlled stainless‑steel vats. Aging is 16 months in French oak barrels, 30 % new and 70 % second‑year. Allergy information: contains sulfites.
