This Quevedo 10 Year Tawny certainly appears to have spent a good deal of time getting to know its age. It’s a light amber with a hint of orange, hinting at some ancient Douro secrets. The aged oak, praised by Robert Parker, lends notes of nuts and cinnamon, but without overwhelming – delightfully balanced, of course. The subtle coffee notes at the finish are a particularly promising sign. I'd recommend pairing it with some sheep’s cheese or a slice of foie gras.
