This Quinta Alta white, harvested with the painstaking precision only human hands can deliver – August 31st, 2022 to be exact – embodies the very spirit of the Douro. The slow, gentle fermentation at 14°C brilliantly preserves the vibrancy of the Viosinho and Gouveio grapes, complemented by the delicate touch of Malvasia Fina. Francisco Montenegro clearly understands this wine’s potential; it’s a match made in heaven alongside a beautiful gravlax salmon or, perhaps, some exceptionally fresh shellfish. Simply put, it’s a wine designed for pure, uncomplicated enjoyment.
