Depending on their age, the wines may show marks left by time, such as traces of dust on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels, which is common in wines that have been stored for decades. Garrafeira Nacional undertakes to store all wines at the correct temperature and humidity but always chooses to preserve the visual appearance that comes with their age. We generally select brands and regions that tend to perform well in tastings of old wines. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas are subject to different developments. For this reason, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the quality of the wine, as it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it breathe beforehand, as this will help release the wine's natural aromas after so many years of being closed.
