This Quinta da Biaia is a delightfully perplexing wine, scoring a remarkable 18.5 points with *Revista de Vinhos*. Black fruit notes – think spiced pumpkin or fig compote – intertwine with the Mouradella, underpinned by a hint of molasses. Hints of tobacco and dark chocolate whisper of a seriously intense experience, all thanks to the Baga and Touriga Nacional which deliver a welcome structural backbone and acidity. Seriously impressive, and utterly perfect with a hearty beef roast.
