“Quinta da Biaia Vegan” – a name hinting at a delightfully rebellious spirit. This red, crafted with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and the intriguing Tinta Roriz, appears to have been born in a stainless steel tank – a deliberate ‘de-fatting’ process lasting two weeks, you see. The seven-month French oak ageing certainly lends a touch of smoothness, but thankfully doesn’t mask the pure expression of the grapes. It’s a wine for the contemporary palate, particularly well-suited to hearty beef stews with mushroom sauces, wouldn’t you agree?”
