The Quinta da Boavista has been recognized since the first demarcation of the Douro wine region in 1756. Its presence is also documented on the famous 19th‑century maps of Joseph James Forrester. Throughout the 20th century, the estate faced challenging periods, passing through the hands of several owners who brought their expertise and experience to the production of Boavista wines. Located in the Cima‑Corgo sub‑region, near Pinhão, on the right bank of the Douro and offering one of the best river views, the estate spans 36 hectares of high‑quality vineyards, some of which are old vines planted with native grape varieties. In 2020, the Quinta was acquired by Grupo Sogevinus, one of the largest wine groups in the Douro, and continues to grow its national and international success. (illustrative image)
