This Quinta da Extrema Edição II has clearly been a *little* spoiled, hasn’t it? With a hefty 24 months in oak – including a year and a half in second-fill and another in new wood – it’s developed a frankly intense complexity. Wine Enthusiast certainly agreed, awarding it 94 points and noting floral, fruity, and spice aromas that almost make you wonder if the cellar team got a bit carried away. On the palate, the concentration and velvety texture, alongside broad tannins, suggest it could benefit from some breathing or a robust dish to bring things into balance. Definitely best enjoyed with a substantial roast – a perfect pairing, really!
