This Quinta da Fata red, lauded with 16.5 points by Revista de Vinhos, is a delightful surprise. The vibrant fruit is front and centre, but it’s underpinned by a remarkably assertive acidity – a real questioner! Rustic tannins, likely from the Aragonez, give it a wonderfully characterful texture, and that lingering bitterness on the finish? Well, it’s a small, rewarding test of the palate. Excellent with pork or mushroom dishes, of course.
