This Folgosa Velha is a wine with a clearly defined mission: intense concentration, a robust structure, and the understated elegance you only find in vines boasting 45 years of wisdom. Crafted primarily with Durião grapes – the very soul of the Douro – and fermented in granite lagares, it’s a faithful representation of the region’s classic character. The twelve months spent in French oak barrels have imparted a luxurious texture, but thankfully haven’t muted the vibrant energy of the grapes themselves. Seriously, it’s brilliant paired with grilled fish and lavender rice – or simply enjoyed while gazing across the Douro’s spectacular scenery.
