This Douro Tawny from Quinta da Fonte Nova certainly seems to have enjoyed a delightfully indulgent relationship with age. Honey and fig notes hint at a rich terroir, and a vineyard with a storied past, no doubt. That lingering, sophisticated finish suggests a meticulously handled maturation – perhaps with a dash of mischievous charm. Wonderful with aged cheeses or, dare I say, a touch of foie gras.
