The Quinta da Foz Reserva Vinhas Velhas red wine is made from the Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca grapes, which come from the estate’s old vineyards. After 18 months of aging in French oak barrels it displays a striking cherry‑red color and complex, intense aromas highlighted by red fruit, black plum, and subtle floral notes. Black‑chocolate and spice nuances from the French oak further enrich the bouquet. On the palate it is full‑bodied, with fresh fruit tones and silky tannins that are perfectly integrated, giving it elegance and a pleasant, persistent finish. Quinta da Foz is located in the heart of the Douro wine region, in the Cima Corgo sub‑region, in the parish of Gouvães do Douro, Sabrosa, and sits along the confluence of the Pinhão River with the Douro River. Today the estate focuses on producing excellent table wines and resumed port production in 2012. Its old vineyards, the quality of the grapes, and the rigorous, professional work of its enology team all contribute to its success.
