Produced only in years of exceptional quality, this is a red wine that brings together 20 indigenous Douro grape varieties, including Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, and Tinta Cão. It displays a deep ruby color, with aromas of forest fruits, eucalyptus leaves, pine, and dried plums. On the palate it reveals an excellent structure, balance, and elegance. It is a gastronomic wine with great aging potential. Domingos Alves de Sousa gives life to his wines, following a family tradition that began with his grandfather and now also involves his children. By vinifying exclusively the grapes from his estates—truly unique terroirs—he has earned widespread recognition for the quality and distinctiveness of his wines, with distinctions and references in the most respected national and international publications. Notably, he received the “Producer of the Year” award in 1999 and again in 2006 from the Wine Magazine, becoming the first to receive the most important distinction for a wine producer in Portugal twice.
