This Quinta da Giesta wine from the Dão is a delightful demonstration of Nuno Cancela de Abreu’s skill: gentle temperature control and maceration of Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, and Alicante Bouschet can truly deliver something special. The cool skin contact and fermentation at 23°C show a touch of boldness, while retaining the elegant character typical of the region. A fitting tribute to these grapes, and with a respectable 88/100 from Robert Parker – a score well worth raising a glass to! Perfect with grilled red meats or spicy pasta, wouldn’t you say?
