“This wine from Quinta da Pedra Alta is clearly designed for indulgence – a seriously decadent affair, crafted primarily from Touriga Nacional grapes grown on the estate’s steepest slopes. The Sousão adds a beautiful blush and a welcome burst of acidity, while the Fernão Pires ties everything together beautifully. The extended *sur lie* fermentation (20 months) and the influence of 30% new oak have layered the wine with considerable complexity and a silky texture. Perfect with roasted lamb or a mature, hard cheese, if you ask me.”
