Quinta da Romaneira The 2024 harvest began on 22 August with the white varieties Boal do Douro and Gouveio. Mild days and cool nights provided a slow, ideal ripening, enhancing concentration and aromatic expression. This year’s white wines stand out for their freshness, structure, and aromatic complexity, with particular emphasis on Viosinho and Gouveio, which achieved perfect ripening, yielding vibrant and refreshing wines. Despite two days of rain in mid-September, the harvest quality remained high, resulting in balanced, complex wines with great aging potential, promising an exceptional vintage. Vinification: Gouveio – 60%; Boal do Douro – 20%; Viosinho – 10%; Rabigato – 10%. Fifty percent of the wine was fermented in French oak barrels, with the four varieties vinified separately, for 21 days at temperatures between 16 and 18 °C. No malolactic fermentation was performed, and selected yeasts were used. Stage: 50 % of the wine fermented in French oak barrels, 23 % new and 27 % second‑year. The remaining 50 % fermented in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, bâtonnage was carried out for three months, once a week, to impart greater mouthfeel and complexity.
