This Touriga Franca from Quinta da Romaneira certainly doesn’t shy away from making an impression. The deep colour hints at a well-kept secret, while the nose bursts with blueberries and raspberries, playfully accompanied by the scent of fresh bread and a touch of wild florals – a true reflection of the quinta’s vineyards. On the palate, the complexity persists, with ripe fruit and spices beautifully expressed, yet the influence of new oak (38% of the barrels) adds notes of dark chocolate. All this is enveloped in smooth tannins, suggesting a wine with aging potential – a delight for those who enjoy watching a good wine unfold. It deserves to be enjoyed now, but will certainly reward patience.
