This wine, born from ancient Douro vines, is a delightful surprise. The deep ruby colour hints at a complex blend of ripe black and red fruits – think perfectly mature black cherry and fresh strawberry – a genuinely unexpected combination. The remarkable balance between its structure and the silky tannins, largely thanks to the Touriga Nacional and Tinto Cão, delivers an elegant wine with a lingering finish. A deserving 16.5 points, and absolutely perfect alongside a grilled beef dish.
