Description

Produced primarily from Touriga Nacional, blended with Touriga Franca, it is a wine of deep color and good concentration, with aromas of wild fruits. It feels elegant and fresh on the palate, with acidity and wood notes that are very well balanced, and a long, persistent finish. It has good aging potential. After dedicating about 50 years of his life to viticulture in Duriense, José António Castro Ramos Pinto Rosas decided to turn his dream of creating the “perfect estate” into reality for the production of Port and Douro wines. After a long, detailed study of the Demarcated Region of the Douro and with the help of topographic maps, José Rosas found a property of about 20 hectares in the Upper Douro near Vila Nova de Foz Côa, whose characteristics he judged to be ideal for producing superior‑quality wines. Today, Jorge Rosas, son of José Rosas and great‑great‑grandson of Adriano Ramos Pinto—the founder of the eponymous house—continues this legacy. (illustrative image only)
