This Quinta d’Almargem Black Trincadeira Reserva has clearly had a rather eventful life – a long one, to be sure. After such extended aging, expect the aromas to be delightfully unsettled, and a miniature underwater city forming in the bottle. Proceed with patience, allowing it to breathe, and if you’re feeling particularly daring, consider decanting with the care one might afford a historical artifact. A robust dish from the Lisboa region would perfectly complement the wine’s character.
