Avô Fausto red, from Quinta das Bágeiras, is a wine that prioritizes elegance and authenticity, combining the Baga and Touriga Nacional grape varieties from carefully selected plots in Bairrada. Traditionally vinified, with fermentation in open lagar and aging in used French oak barrels and wooden tonel, it reveals a distinctive profile marked by notes of spice and wild berries. On the palate it shows excellent balance, polished tannins, and a fresh, vibrant acidity, resulting in a wine of great character, finesse, and remarkable gastronomic versatility. The history of Quinta das Bágeiras spans the work of three generations; however, it was only in 1989, under Mário Sérgio's leadership, that the company began bottling and selling Quinta das Bágeiras wines, quickly becoming a benchmark for wines from Bairrada and in Portugal. Although produced according to the methods of previous generations, Quinta das Bágeiras wines are not wines of fashion, but are always in fashion, revealing with each harvest the character of the region and of the people who make them.
