This Quinta de Cidro Pinot Noir from Real Companhia Velha is a beautifully restrained expression of the grape. Expect vibrant notes of cherry and raspberry, classic for the variety, but delivered with a lovely lightness. The use of spent French oak barrels has imparted subtle hints of vanilla and spice – a welcome complexity. Seriously, it’s a fantastic match with some good paté or roasted poultry.
