Born from Baga and Touriga Nacional grapes at the historic Quinta de Foz de Arouce – a producer steeped in tradition since the 18th century – this wine is a genuine reflection of the soul of the Beiras region. Guided by enologist João Perry Vidal, it offers an intensely memorable experience, brimming with notes of red berries and resin, reminiscent of local legend, King Arunce, and his celebrated wine. Carefully hand-picked and fermented with traditional foot-treading, the wine boasts remarkably smooth tannins and a harmonious balance. The extended ageing in 14-month French oak barrels adds layers of complexity, culminating in a long, contemplative finish. Produced in a limited run of just 3526 bottles, this wine deserves to be paired with something special – perhaps a succulent duck magret with spinach and fig purée from the estate itself. And if, as predicted by Robert Parker (95/100) and fellow esteemed critics, its excellence is confirmed, well, you might just have stumbled upon a true treasure.
