Quinta de Lemos The Encruzado variety is exclusive to the Dão region, quite balanced, aromatic, and imparts great longevity to the wines. The vines grow on slopes between 350 and 400 metres altitude. The vineyard follows an integrated protection programme, prohibiting herbicide use; pest control is achieved through soil mobilisation. The harvest is manual, when the grapes reach optimal ripeness in the second half of September. This first‑production wine was vinified in stainless steel at 13 °C, with two‑thirds of it finishing fermentation in new French oak barrels, where it aged for 15 months.
