This Late Harvest Riesling from Quinta de Sant Ana has clearly enjoyed a prolonged stay amongst its carvalho barrels. The inherent sweetness, reminiscent of river stones and mucous membranes, is delightfully intense, balanced by a subtle acidity that gives it a refreshing spark, as if invigorated by the waters of the Douro. A truly lovely accompaniment to aged sheep’s cheeses or a vibrant red berry compote – a perfect pairing to savour life’s sweeter moments.
