This Encruzado from Quinta de São Simão da Aguieira is a truly refreshing delight – tropical fruit, particularly ananas, bursts forth on the palate, subtly spiced with anise and fennel. It’s no surprise the *Revista de Vinhos* awarded it 90 points; the slow maceration technique, gentle pressing and ageing on fine lees deliver an elegant body and impeccable acidity. A fantastic pairing would be with freshly grilled fish or a quinoa salad bursting with citrus.
