Description

Quinta do Banco Reserva Red is produced from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Sousão grapes. Approximately 40 % of the wine matures in stainless‑steel tanks, while the remaining 60 % ages in French and American oak barrels for ten months. On the nose it offers forest‑fruit and compote aromas, harmoniously blended with the toasted notes from barrel ageing. The finish is full‑bodied and silky, with persistence and balance. The first records of Quinta das Cabanas go back to the 18th century, when it was part of the General Company of Agriculture of the Vineyards of Alto Douro and was marked as landmark No. 18 of the 1756 Pombaline Demarcations. Today the owning family has also acquired other properties in the Baixo Corgo Sub‑Region, bringing the total to about 90 hectares of vineyards aged 25–35 years, planted with native grape varieties.
