“This wine from Quinta do Banco, built around Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, speaks of a Douro with centuries of heritage. The addition of 20% new French oak adds a remarkable softness, a lovely counterpoint to the inherent strength of the grapes. Established in the 18th century – part of the historic Companhia Geral da Agricultura – the estate now manages nearly 90 hectares in the Baixo Corgo, boasting vineyards between 25 and 35 years old. It's a beautifully balanced wine, ideal alongside a hearty beef roast, no doubt.”
