Decided to adopt a quality policy for the wines produced, the Caves Velhas – which later became part of the Grupo Enoport Wines – decided in May 1983 to purchase Quinta do Boição, whose owners had always sold them their production. Quinta do Boição is located in Bucelas, on the banks of the Ribeira do Boição, within the renowned Demarcated Region of Bucelas, between the margins of the Ribeira do Boição and the River Trancão, covering a total area of 45 hectares, of which 32.5 are devoted to vine cultivation.
