Quinta do Cardo: An architecture of refinement, marked by freshness, lightness, and authenticity, the white wines of Quinta do Cardo are aromatic and elegant. The granitic geological matrix of the Beira Interior Plateau gives them a fresh, mineral character distinctive to this high-altitude terroir. The white wines of Beira Interior generally display a hue between citron‑yellow and straw‑yellow, accompanied by a rich and diverse aromatic expression, predominantly fruity. On the palate, they reveal a medium body, moderate alcohol content, and vibrant acidity that grants them freshness and balance. They also exhibit good longevity and an excellent aging potential. **Vinification:** This Grande Reserva originates from the oldest vines of Síria, planted at 750 meters altitude. The grapes are hand‑picked and pressed whole, using only the first crushes of the press. The wine is then fermented in new and used French oak barrels of 500 L, where it remains for one year on the whole fermentation lees. Biological production at Quinta do Cardo, a pioneer in Portugal, promotes the preservation of native fauna and flora, fostering biodiversity in the agricultural ecosystem. This sustainable approach also has a decisive impact on the quality and expression of the wines produced at the estate. The Quinta do Cardo Branco Grande Reserva is a DOC Beira Interior wine, high‑altitude, produced using biological methods. Rooted in a predominantly granitic terroir and sustained by a winemaking tradition of almost 100 years, the vines of Quinta do Cardo yield wines that stand out for their unique identity and the sensory and cultural experience they provide. The first wine at Quinta do Cardo was produced in the 1930s, then called Branco Maia. In 1986, the first white wine was bottled under the Quinta do Cardo label.
