A Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, has travelled a long journey, establishing itself as one of Portugal’s most innovative wine producers. The company began by producing wines from grapes grown in the Palmela region. In the 1980s, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal began expanding, acquiring properties across the country and setting new paradigms for quality wine production. The winemaking centre for all its Alentejo wines is located at Quinta do Carmo, a modern cellar capable of producing 3 million litres. (illustrative image)
