In the 1960s the first Quinta wine of the Douro region, Quinta do Côtto, was born; its success prompted Montez Champalimaud to expand its portfolio first with Quinta do Côtto Grande Escolha, and later by launching a new label, Paço de Teixeiró, in the Verde Wine region. Today, a Quinta wine guarantees that it was carefully produced and selected by the owner of the estate, ensuring quality, personality and authenticity – without which no good wine can claim to be great.
