Quinta do Crasto Quinta do Crasto Tinta Roriz is a premium-range wine made entirely from Tinta Roriz grapes. It is bottled only in years that reach a high level of quality and excellence, when the variety truly shows its potential. Over the years, Quinta do Crasto has identified three ideal plots of Tinta Roriz vines, each with a different solar exposure – east, east‑south and west‑north – at the same altitude and on soil that, though poor at the surface, contains a clay layer 1.5 m below that stores winter water and provides the necessary hydration for the vine’s excellent performance. The 2018 vintage delivered exceptional freshness and balance in the white wines, red wines with excellent concentration, structure, freshness and aromatic definition, and Port wines with outstanding aging potential. Vinification: The grapes, sourced from the finest Tinta Roriz blocks at Quinta do Crasto, were transported in 22 kg crates and subjected to rigorous sorting upon entry to the cellar. After a complete de‑pulping and a gentle crushing, the must was transferred to stainless‑steel fermentation tanks with temperature control. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, a gentle pressing was performed. Maturation: The wine spent 18 months in French oak barrels. Winemaker: Manuel Lobo.
