The Quinta do Gradil 100% Chardonnay is made with half of the crop fermented in French oak barrels, which amplifies its varietal character. The wine offers aromas of apple, butter, and hazelnut, with a touch of mild wood smoke that makes it expressive, rich and creamy. The Atlantic freshness is unmistakable on the palate. Quinta do Gradil is part of Portuguese wine history since 1492. It was not until the 17th century that the vineyard and wine became a core part of the estate’s economic activity. The decisive moment came in the 19th century when Dona Maria do Carmo Romeiro da Fonseca inherited the Quinta from her father and transformed it into a leading agricultural business focused on wine production. Today, many years later, Quinta do Gradil remains a Portuguese benchmark worldwide, now led by Luís Vieira. (Illustrative image only)
